Our ten tiny little fingers are not confined to create rough and wild ceramic pieces, but can also create extremely delicate ones.
In this workshop, we will be working with clay slab. See what animals of year we can put on the plate and in the same time to convey Lunar New Year message.
Drawing on a clay slab is an interesting adventure. Underglaze undergoes extreme high temperature but yet its color can still be well maintained. The colours before and after firing is rather difficult to managed in the beginning. The coloring process in ceramic is not as direct or responsive as traditional painting, yet this is exactly why ceramic has its own charm. It’s kinda like, are you a dog lover or a cat lover sort of thing.
