Course Introduction

​

In our ceramic course, students are encouraged to discover the diverse quality of clay and to understand what do different types of clay can represent in an artistic way. Course structure emphasize on foundation, including: hand-building and wheel-throwing. Also, training and developing students’ observation and eye-hand coordination are introduced as well. The ceramic history and cultural background of different centuries will also be taught throughout the course. 

 

Course Features

▮ Ceramic has a tensity between tradition and innovation, which we try to demonstrate and educate students in a fun and inspiring way. We hope to bring student to understand and appreciate the contemporary ceramic world. 。

▮ Learning process will be based on the perspective of science, including the types and characteristics of clay,  also the glazing effect and application of kiln. Each step is carefully guided and will demonstrate every tiny difference and discovery to students.

Programs

Ages 6-11 | HKD 1400/ 4 Classes

Topics will be mainly related to daily lives. Students will learn related knowledge and production skills, including tools usages and materials application.

 

Ages 12-18 | HKD 1500/ 4 Classes

As teenagers has more life experience, course will allow more freedom to make their own decision regarding their works. Teachers will help and carefully guide them to deepen and broaden the creative process, to help them with their expression and understandings.
